SunCollect MALDI-Spotter

Overview

A fast & flexible, small-footprint fraction-collector and MALDI target-spotter.

The SunCollect MALDI spotter from SunChrom (Friedrichsdorf, Germany) is a flexible and extremely accurate and fraction collector and MALDI target-spotter. Fractions can be collected from either Micro or Nano HPLC runs and spotted onto a variety of MALDI target plates or microtitre plate wells. Superb precision ensures that there is no contamination between neighbouring spots and all materials are biocompatible. Also ideal for preparing tissue sections for MALDI analysis.

Tissue samples can be easily prepared for MALDI imaging using the SunCollect. The spotter can handle fresh-frozen or FFPE tissue sections. Enzymes such as trypsin can be applied to the tissue for in-situ digest along with a matrix solution. Shown below are images obtained from FFPE breast cancer xenograft tissue prepared by Marie-Claude Djidja in Professor Malcolm Clench's laboratory at the Sheffield Hallam University. These were then run on a Waters Synapt HDMS mass spectrometer at the Waters MicroMass applications laboratory in Manchester.
