Atmospheric Pressure Photo-Ionisation

The Atmospheric Pressure Photoionization (APPI) source has been developed specifically for Waters/Micromass mass spectrometers with "Fishbowl" Z Spray sources including the LCT, Quattro and QTOF.

APPI is an important complement to ESI and APCI by expanding the range and classes of compounds that can be analyzed, including nonpolar molecules that are not easily ionized by ESI or APCI.
